Major brands turn on solar to create more positive bottom line

A 2022 report from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) names Meta (Facebook), Amazon, Apple, Walmart and Microsoft as the five top solar users in corporate America.

Solar is at the forefront of a major corporate push toward clean energy, sustainability and more sustainable design.

“Solar is incredibly flexible,” observes Abigail Ross Hopper, SEIA president and CEO. “From data centers to industrial freezers, the most energy-intensive business operations are turning to solar as a reliable and affordable way to power their infrastructure.”

The SEIA tracks over 47,000 corporate solar installations nationwide — these generate enough electricity to power 3.2 million homes and offset 20.4 million metric tons of carbon annually.

Solar helps responsible corporations who are trying to reduce their environmental impact

Why does Commercial solar adoption make sense? First, there is economic value in creating your own energy source, rather than paying a local utility.

There are also environmental benefits. Corporations have a responsibility to reduce their environmental impact, and using solar energy is an effective way to do so.
